Flav is the founder of The Fighting Cock podcast, one of the most popular podcasts about Tottenham Hotspur since it started in 2011.We talk to him about what it’s been like to run The Fighting Cock, as well as discussing his other projects and of course, Spurs.

Icebreaker:

Given that Flav tweeted not too long ago about “things that will die out when the old people go”, we flipped that concept for the icebreaker and all named something that we wish had never been invented/popularised by the younger generations.

Flav on “The Fighting Cock” and “15 minutes” podcasts:

Flav walks us through how “The Fighting Cock” podcast has (or hasn’t) evolved over the past 10 years since it was founded and gives his thoughts on the wider football podcast landscape during this period of time.

Flav admits that after a decade of talking about Tottenham Hotspur he much prefers the laidback flow of chatting about life with old friends and new ones too, something which he gets to do on “15 minutes with Flav and Windy”, as well as for his “No Holds Barred” podcast.

Who Are Ya?!:

The group plays “Who Are Ya?!”, the guessing game where a mystery player is revealed based on clues. In this edition the players have all played for Tottenham.

1. The manager who signed this player described him as “a tall target man, a hard-working, honest player with a good goal scoring record.” Who is he?

2. This player burst onto the academy scene at Spurs, however he only ever managed one senior appearance and is currently without a club. Who is he?

3. This player is one of just three players from his home nation to ever play for Spurs… although he never technically played a game for the North London club. Who is he?

Spurs Chat:

Flav weighs in with his opinion of Spurs’ season so far and gives his opinion on the football that they’re playing under Jose Mourinho.

With Spurs in the upcoming final of the Carabao Cup,

Flav draws the line on what he would consider success vs. failure at Tottenham this season and he doesn’t pull any punches… trophies or bust! Flav on the North London Derby and how his relationship with the fixture has developed through time.

Flav’s thoughts on the upcoming FA cup fixture vs. Wycombe (and former guest David Wheeler) and the huge game vs. Liverpool in the Premier League.

Love the Shirt:

To finish the show, the group plays “Love the Shirt”, the football kit trivia based “dating” game whose name pays tribute to “The Fighting Cock’s” famous slogan.
