The United Mates Keitel and Joe are joined by their old friend John and special guest Joe Davies, a die hard Chelsea FC season ticket holder and travelling away supporter who rose to infamy a few years back after being called on the phone by club legend John Terry.
On which footballer the guys would call using the “Phone a Friend” lifeline if they were in a tight spot on ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’:
Joe Davies: Frank Lampard because he’s a “genius with a Latin A level”
Joe: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg because he’s “no-nonsense”
John: David Luiz becuase he’s “full of random information”
Keitel: Liam Rosenior because he was a notoriously smart footballer
Who Are Ya?:
The group plays “Who Are Ya?” the mystery footballer guessing game and this week it’s Chelsea themed for our guest Joe Davies.
1. As Chelsea played Rennes the day prior to recording, this first player played for Rennes. He also played in the Premier League on loan for one season at a team who have since been relegated. He’s a French midfielder currently playing in Greece. Who is he?
2. This ex-Chelsea player is the same nationality as a legendary Chelsea goalkeeper but never hit the same heights during his time at Stamford Bridge. He’s played for another Premier League team and won titles with Celtic up in Scotland. He stands at 6′ 5″. Who is he?
3. This former Chelsea player and ex-international footballer was born in Bosnia but that’s not who he represented. He was loaned out 4 times during his spell at the Bridge and our guest Joe Davies thought he would be better than Hazard after seeing him play in pre-season many years ago. Who is he?
On supporting a club home and away:
Joe Davies has fond memories of travelling to European matches with his match-going Chelsea friends; the group ended up on a night out in Minsk on Belarussian Independence day and Joe says it’s the best night out of his life. Joe dreads Newcastle away as Chelsea rarely win there and says that Swansea away is his least favorite away day. Joe celebrated when they were relegated from the Premier League. Joe relishes Spurs away as “3 point Lane” has always been a happy hunting ground for him and Chelsea over the years. Joe does his best to explain the celery phenomenon surrounding Chelsea Football Club.
The Lifetime Fantasy Chelsea Draft:
The group determines a draft order and then takes picks building their respective lifetime Chelsea starting XIs; once a player is picked, nobody else can take them.
